Felipe Santiago Tapia, born in Culiacan in 1745, brought his wife, Juana Maria Filomena Hernandes (or Juana Maria Cardenas) and the following children: Jose Bartolome, Juan Jose, Jose Cristoval, Jose Francisco, Jose Victor, Maria Rosa, age fifteen; Maria Antonia, age thirteen; Maria Manuela, age ten; and Maria Ysidora, age four.
Jose Bartolome, who settled at San Luis Obispo was grantee of Topanga Malibu rancho in 1804. His son, Tiburcio, was granted Cucamonga rancho.
