      Death of a Strong Man.
        SAN LUIS OBISPO, December 31, ---- Wm. Stenner died at his home on Stenner creek, near this city, to-day, in the 85th year of his age. He was a native of England and one of the oldest foreign residents of California, coming here about 1825 as the mate of a vessel under the late Captain John Wilson. Mr. Stenner was noted for his great physical strength, being able but a few years ago to lift a load of 800 pounds.
