      Josefa Comargo, female adult, aged 80 years. Born in Mexico. Lived in Santa Ynez 25 years. Was married at the age of 13. Her father was F. Martinez and her mother was Anna Maria, an Indian. Her death on March 17th was by a fire. She was burning rubbish and her dress caught fire and burned her to death. Fr. Buckler records her as a good Indian, with good underlined.
