FIRST JUDICIAL DISTRICT
Be it Remembered, that at a term of the DISTRICT COURT OF THE FIRST JUDICIAL DISTRICT of the TERRITORY OF ARIZONA, on this 9th day of September, in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Ninety _____ the same being a day of the September term of the above entitled court, HON. RICHARD E. SLOAN, Associate Justice, presiding; in open Court came Adolfo Verdugo late a subject of the Republic of Mexico and made application to be admitted to become a CITIZEN OF UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and it appearing to the satisfaction of this Court, by the oath of Robert J. Paul and William Jo Osborn citizens of the United States, witnesses for that purpose, first duly sworn and examined, that Adolfo Verdugo a native of Sonora, Mexico has resided within the limits and under the jurisdiction of the United States five years at least, last past, and within the Territory of Arizona, for one year last past; and that during all of said time he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same; and it also appearing to the Court, by competent evidence, that the said applicant had heretofore, and more than two years since and in due form of law declared his intention to become a Citizen of the United States; and having now here, before this Court, taken an oath that he will support the Constitution of the United States of America, and that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to the Republic of Mexico . It is therefore ordered, adjudged and decreed that the said Adolf Verdugo be, and he is admitted and declared to be a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
