DEATH
"Thomas' peripatetic movement and poor health finally caught up with him, and he died on January 7, 1852, in San Pedro. His new business partner, B.D. Wilson, witnessed Thomas's will and found a place for his widow and young son, noting for the record that "Hereford resided, at and immediately before his death, at the house of B.D. Wilson, a merchant, aged 40.

MARRIAGE
"The Hereford family had leased the resort facilities at Sulphur Springs, the large Sublette family farm in St. Louis, in 1842. Keeping things in the family, Margaret married her first cousin, also Dr. Thomas A. Hereford, who had accompanied the extended family in their move to Missouri."
