#274. Bojorques y Berreesa
Juan Bojorques (1) - 1860 Census Marin County, Aged 40 (Juan Borjogues)
married 1839, Msn. S.Cl. to
Maria Loreto [Pelagia] Berreyesa y Bernal - 1860 Census Marin County, Aged 35 (Lorette Borjogues)
NOTE (1): The entry of their marriage was made Msn. S.Cl. Marriages 12/14/1862 saying Francisco Jose Bojorques aged 56 and Loreto Berreyesa had been married in 1839.
Inasmuch as the father of Loreto Berreyesa was called Juan it appears that the error was in the information understood by the person giving or taking it. They were, it said, the parents of Rafela de Jesus Moreno. There is no Rafaela de Jesus Bojorques in the file who might have married a Moreno.
There are two men in the file who could be this Juan Bojorques - Bojorques y Linares (Msn. S.Cl. Bap 12/16/1806) and Bojorques y Pacheco (Msn. S.Cl. Bap. 9/4/11) - both with the same Anza symbol.
There was a marginal entry for a Juan Bojorques Msn. Santa Cruz Burial 4/5/1838 with "child" marked out. That either one died at that time is open to question and which one was the father of Loreto Berreyesa's children has not been determined.
If Juan (1806) did not survive Juan Jose (1811), a nephew could easily have been raised and accepted as son in the Bojorques y Linares family when his mother, Petra Pacheco, married again in 1816 and then had a large family. See Bernal y Pacheco
In that event any clues as to which one by family relationship would apply to either. There was no connection seen in various entries between Juan Bojorques and any Bernals y Pacheco but there were several with those of the Bojorques y Linares family.
The age of 56 fits Bojorques y Linars but the 1860 census only two years before listed Juan Bojorques as 40 and Loreto 35 indicating they either did not know their ages or there was another Juan Bojorques not seen in the file. Juan's maternal lineage is thus in doubt.
